Report: Yaya Toure keen to stay in Premier League if he leaves Manchester City

Reuters

Yaya Toure has no desire to leave the Premier League even if Manchester City decides to part ways with the Ivorian at the end of the season, the Guardian's Jamie Jackson reports.

Toure, who has one year left on his deal with the Citizens, isn't opposed to seeing out his contract and playing under incoming manager Pep Guardiola next season. Toure fell out with Guardiola in 2010, his final year at Barcelona, and his agent later indicated that Guardiola's presence would force his client out of Manchester. But Toure's relationship with the Spaniard has since improved, according to Jackson.

A reported £30-million-a-year offer from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning - which already managed to lure Brazilian midfielder Ramires from Chelsea in the January transfer window - apparently isn't enough for Toure to consider his future outside of England. His family is settled in the Manchester area, and a move abroad seems unlikely.

Jackson notes that City may have reservations about selling Toure to a domestic rival, but he is an attractive option for many top Premier League clubs.

Despite dealing with various injuries, Toure has six goals and five assists in 25 league appearances this season. He also dispatched the penalty that won the Capital One Cup final at Wembley in February.
