Hiddink concedes that Pedro will not play vs. Norwich City
Chelsea attacker Pedro will not be fit for Tuesday's league tilt with Norwich City after limping off in the opening minutes of a weekend victory over Southampton.
The Spanish international exited seven minutes into the Blues' 2-1 win and was replaced by Oscar. It was revealed following the match that the summer signing from Barcelona had a hamstring concern.
With a two-day layoff between league matches ahead of Saturday's match with Stoke City and next Wednesday's Champions League second leg clash with French champions Paris Saint-Germain, squad depth is paramount for Hiddink's squad.
"I will see Pedro now, yesterday he was here for treatment," Hiddink told reporters ahead of Wednesday's visit to Carrow Road.
"Normally with these injuries I'm not that positive that it will be resolved in a few days but I need the information from my medical staff."
Tough luck for Pedro, who has just begun hitting his stride after a sluggish start to his Chelsea tenure. He appeared in each of the club's last five matches in all competitions, and had a brace in a 5-1 drubbing of Newcastle in mid-February.
Unbeaten in the league since Hiddink took charge in December, the Blues look to continue a fine run of form when they make the East Anglia trip, with the hosts languishing perilously close to the drop zone in 17th on 24 points, ahead of the Magpies by a one-goal differential.
