Arsenal's Koscielny suffers apparent leg injury vs. Leicester

Reuters

The situation at the Emirates Stadium went from bad to worse for Arsenal as a Leicester City goal before halftime was followed by an injury to Laurent Koscielny.

Arsenal has yet to comment on the exact reason for his removal, but various reports suggest the French defender was pulled from the contest at the break after sustaining a dead leg.

It's unclear when Koscielny - who was replace by Calum Chambers to begin the second interval - suffered the knock, as he was involved in a pair of heavy tackles that could've caused the injury.

Koscielny will likely undergo scans to determine the severity of the injury and whether he will be forced to miss any time.

Arsenal will be hopeful the injury is not serious as it gets sets to defend its FA Cup title in a fifth round match against Hull City, followed by the first leg of its Champions League round of 16 encounter with Barcelona on Feb. 23.

The 30-year-old has been a staple in the Arsenal back line, starting 22 matches with three goals to his name.
