Liverpool cancels Q&A with chief executive over ticket price row

Liverpool has scrapped plans to have a Q-and-A with chief executive Ian Ayre on the topic of ticket prices on the heels of Saturday's 77th-minute walkout protest at Anfield.

The Merseysiders had originally scheduled an interactive discussion with Ayre for Monday, but cancelled the chat with a message on their official Twitter account.

Liverpool recently announced plans to raise ticket prices across the board, with the costliest matchday seat ballooning from £59 to £77, prompting 10,000 supporters to leave Anfield early on Saturday in a show of defiance.

The Reds had invited supporters to submit questions for an hour-long Q-and-A session to be broadcast on their club-run TV station. Reports suggest that Saturday's organized protest forced Liverpool to review its pricing hike.

With many fans seemingly at odds with the club, Reds gaffer Jurgen Klopp shared his opinion on the matter, despite an apparent hesitation to say too much.

"Anything I'd could say about this now I think would make it more complicated because I have to first of all collect more information," he said. "What I know is that everybody in the club has a big interest to find a solution for this - this is not what we want. We don't want that people leave the stadium before the game is finished."
