Juventus' Marotta asks Allegri to 'think twice' about joining Chelsea
Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta is urging Massimiliano Allegri to "think twice" about moving away from the Serie A outfit for an opportunity with Chelsea, which is reportedly aiming to bring the Italian to Stamford Bridge.
Allegri has been linked with the upcoming vacancy at Chelsea for the better part of a month, with many outlets pegging him as one of the favourites to replace Guus Hiddink once the Dutch manager's interim role is complete at season's end.
However, Marotta wants the 48-year-old, whose contract expires in 2017, to think carefully about a possible move to London this summer.
"All the conditions are right for us to continue with him as coach. Results are what count and Allegri has delivered plenty of those," Marotta told Italian outlet Mediaset, as translated by The Guardian. "Football is a business and the role of a coach is important when it comes to breeding continuity.
"Chelsea are a top club and it’s obvious that they’ll want to look at the best coaches. All I can say is that Allegri is already at a top club, so he’d do well to think twice before leaving Juventus."
After joining the Bianconeri in 2014, Allegri helped the club capture the double last season with Serie A and Coppa Italia titles, including a superb run in the Champions League where Juve lost in the finals against Barcelona.
