Leicester will 'keep dreaming' after stunning win at Manchester City

Leicester City's players may not want to talk about the Premier League title, but after beating Manchester City 3-1 at the Etihad on Saturday, they're allowing themselves to dream.

Goals from defender Robert Huth and midfielder Riyad Mahrez put Leicester six points ahead of perennial favourite City and five points clear of second-placed Tottenham at the top of the table. The Foxes haven't let up their form all season, with their counterattacking spirit and tireless industry making up for what they lack in star power. What was once a battle to simply stay in the league has turned into a referendum on their title credentials.

"Our ambition this season was to be safe," said manager Claudio Ranieri. "We have done that. Now we must enjoy and treat every game as if it's our last. We have to continue. It's taken a lot of effort so it's important the players recover well. We ran more than the ball!"

With 13 matches to play and a maximum of 39 points up for grabs, Leicester isn't ready to throw its name into the title ring. The club understands that its fairytale run still has obstacles in the form of Arsenal next weekend, and Manchester United and Chelsea towards the end of the campaign.

"We got a great win. Leicester still have a lot of games so we can't speak now about the title. We have to keep going," said Mahrez. "We will fight for the title and see what we can do. We didn't expect to win 3-1 so we will keep dreaming and see what can happen."

City manager Manuel Pellegrini saw his side slump to its first league defeat since Dec. 21 against Arsenal. Although City looked ill-prepared for Leicester's set pieces - off of which it scored twice - Pellegrini had no problem giving his opponent due praise.

"A lot of things went wrong. We played against a very good team," he said. "It's fair to give the merit they have, they're playing well. If Leicester continue playing the way they are, (they are favourites). There are 13 games more so it's difficult to predict."
