Silva suffered ankle injury in Manchester City defeat, Pellegrini confirms
Manchester City may have to brace itself for life without David Silva after manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the gifted midfielder suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's 3-1 loss to Leicester City.
The Spanish international suffered the injury in the second half when he limped off the pitch and was replaced by Bersant Celina.
Pellegrini revealed that Silva is in danger of missing City's next match because of the injury, which is a recurrence of the ankle knock he sustained earlier in the campaign. City hosts Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium next Sunday.
"He had a twist in the same ankle," Pellegrini told reporters.
"I think it will be difficult for him to recover soon. We will see before the weekend."
Silva was forced to miss almost two months of action when he sprained the same ankle on international duty with Spain in October.
