Toure likely to leave Manchester City before Guardiola arrives, agent says

Pep Guardiola's arrival at Manchester City could bring an end to Yaya Toure's trophy-laden career at the Etihad Stadium, according to the midfielder's agent.

The two men, who worked together at Barcelona before Toure was sold in 2010, were thought to be on course for a reunion next season after Guardiola was confirmed as City's new manager.

But agent Dimitry Seluk essentially nixed the notion that the pair will feature at the same club when the 2016-17 campaign rolls around.

"I think Yaya will leave the club," Seluk told The Sun. "But before leaving, I hope he will again win the league and all the cups.

"It's not a question of whether Pep likes him or not. It's life, you know."

Seluk challenged Guardiola's past success with Barca, suggesting that both the Spaniard and current manager Luis Enrique had little impact on a club with a winning tradition woven so deeply into its fabricate.

"Barcelona win because it's like a big family, and their structure is an example for everybody.

"It's not a question of personnel. Luis Enrique has done the same as Guardiola. It's not possible to say forever that it's the team of Guardiola.

"Yaya won every trophy in England without Guardiola. Will Guardiola win without Yaya?"

Guardiola, who will depart Bayern Munich at the end of the season, signed a three-year contract to become Manuel Pellegrini's replacement on the touchline.

Meanwhile, Seluk's comments suggest Toure will not see out his contract, which expires after next season, and could be on his way out by the summer.
