West Brom has addressed its injury-depleted midfield with the loan acquisition of Queens Park Rangers' Sandro.

The Brazilian will stay with the Baggies until the end of the season, when the club will have the option to make the deal permanent.

"I spoke to the manager and was impressed," Sandro told the club website. "This is a big club and I feel happy to be here and very happy to be back in the Premier League."

The deal works out for both the midfielder, who'll have the opportunity to return to the top flight, and QPR gaffer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who was looking to trim the wage bill at Loftus Road, according to ESPN FC's Peter O'Rourke.

At the Hawthorns, both James Morrison and influential skipper Darren Fletcher have fallen to injury recently, and Sandro is seen as the ideal midfielder to foil opposition forays forward in Tony Pulis' stingy outfit.

"It was my first day today and I'm looking forward to being part of this family," he said.

"As a player I play with my heart, I give all I can on the pitch - all the time I want to win the ball and play the ball. I hope the fans will see the best of me during my time."

Sandro, who'll wear No. 30 for West Brom, is in contention for the FA Cup fourth-round visit of Peterborough United on Saturday.
