Out of favour at Manchester United and poised for a reported move to Belgian outfit Standard Liege, Spanish 'keeper Victor Valdes hinted at his departure from Old Trafford with a message on his Twitter account.

Valdes, 34, joined United in 2015 from Barcelona, posted a note for Red Devils supporters, saying, "Thank you all for your support during these months of hard work for me. I will never forget! See you soon!"

Current United No. 1 David De Gea paid tribute to his teammate and countryman on Twitter, wishing his fellow Spanish international good luck with the next chapter of a decorated career.

Valdes joined Barcelona's famed La Masia academy in 1995 as a 13-year-old, spending 20 years with the Catalan club, where he won six La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and three Champions Leagues to go along with the 2010 World Cup.
