One of the most vital components of Manchester City's recent successful era could leave at the end of the season, with Yaya Toure apparently happy to let his contract expire in the summer.

A move this January is extremely unlikely, but rumours of a transfer to Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG, managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson, could have some grounding.

"He will not move in January," Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk told SportItalia, according to The Guardian. "However, in the summer things can change. We are ready to listen to any offers that are on the table."

Since his £24-million move from Barcelona in 2010, City's triumphs in the FA Cup and League Cup, and its Premier League titles of 2012 and 2014, have had the Ivorian as a focal point in its midfield. In recent years though, a fall-out over a birthday cake, questions over his work ethic, and regular suggestions from Toure himself that he's unhappy, have increased the likelihood of his career swansong being spent away from Eastlands.

Toure played an important role off the bench in City's 4-0 romp over Crystal Palace last weekend, and will be expected to start in the trip to West Ham United on Saturday.
