Norwich confirms investigation after footage shows John Ruddy 'scuffling'
John Ruddy, who recently lost his place as the first-choice 'keeper at Carrow Road, is under investigation.
Norwich City confirmed Tuesday the club is investigating video footage obtained by The Sun, which shows Ruddy "scuffling" with another man and being restrained while a woman shouts "he's not worth it."
The incident took place in Norwich's Tombland district, reports The Guardian.
"He was hammered, talking to people, being a bit rude," an eyewitness told The Sun. "He called the bloke over and after a few minutes said 'he's a bit of a dickhead.' I don't think the guy took it too well. Ruddy got into the taxi and was sitting next to the door still having a discussion with the guy and the next thing Ruddy has uppercutted him, sent him on the floor.
"Ruddy then got out of the cab, on top of him, thrown a few punches and the guy got up, his face covered in blood. He wasn't holding back - he properly smacked him."
The eyewitness added: "You just can't behave like that. He has been dropped from the team in the last few weeks and maybe he's just not happy."
On Saturday, Ruddy sat on the bench as Norwich and Everton played out a 1-1 draw.
