Klopp insists he's 'satisfied' with Liverpool 'keepers
Contrary to reports, Liverpool won't be in the market for a new netminder as Jurgen Klopp remains committed to deploying Simon Mignolet and Adam Bogdan between the sticks beyond the upcoming transfer window.
The Merseyside club has been linked with moves for Stoke City 'keeper Jack Butland and Belgium Under-21 international Guillaume Hubert, but Klopp gave a vote of confidence to the pair of Liverpool goalies.
"I am absolutely satisfied with our goalkeeper situation - I am sorry to kill your stories about goalkeepers, German goalkeepers and different goalkeepers from wherever!" Klopp told reporters ahead of Wednesday's Capital One Cup match against Southampton.
"We are not looking for another goalkeeper. We have enough high-quality goalkeepers. I've had a lot of goalkeepers in the last few years, and Simon Mignolet is one of the smartest I’ve ever had."
Mignolet has started every Premier League match this season, including a run that's seen Liverpool lose just one of its last 14 matches in all competitions. Meanwhile, Bogdan has not featured in a match since joining the Reds from Bolton during the summer, but has a chance to play Wednesday in the League Cup.
"I have to ask (goalkeeping coach John Achterberg) because I don’t know about things that happened in yesterday’s training and things like this," Klopp said. "It could be that Adam will play, but we will think about this after the press conference.
"I don’t know who will play tomorrow, we have to talk about this. Maybe it is Adam Bogdan but if not then it is Simon Mignolet because (Ryan) Fulton played 90 minutes yesterday."
