In an attempt to generate interest in West Bromwich Albion half-season ticket packages, the Midlands club had gaffer Tony Pulis record a phone message disguised as a genuine call, apparently complete with pregnant pauses mimicking a conversation.
As the calls went out Friday, they were met with mixed reactions at best, if responses on Twitter are any indication. Some were irritated:

Like the Baggies' attempts at goal-scoring, it would seem that this campaign was largely futile.
