Sergio Aguero and his hamstring are ready to take the pitch.

Speaking ahead of Manchester City's Premier League fixture versus Liverpool, manager Manuel Pellegrini provided the update on Aguero that supporters of the Citizens have been waiting over six weeks to hear, while also revealing that it would be risky of him to deploy David Silva for the match.

Aguero suffered a Grade 2 muscle tear in the first half of Argentina's surreal 2-0 defeat to Ecuador in early October.

The last time Aguero featured for City was on Oct. 3, when he equalled a Premier League record by scoring five goals in one fixture. Prior to that 6-1 victory against Newcastle United, he had only found the back of the net once all season.

Pellegrini revealed after the final whistle that Aguero played with a hamstring injury and was treated at the interval, and it was only five days later that he tore a muscle at El Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
