Sergio Aguero hails City's capture of Kevin De Bruyne

Sergio Aguero has been impressed with Manchester City's summer business, with Kevin De Bruyne in particular earning the Argentinian's praise.

The forward managed seven appearances with the Belgian before suffering a hamstring injury, and was the recipient of two assists during his last City outing: a record-breaking five-goal haul against Newcastle United.

It seemed the pair almost immediately struck up a dangerous partnership.

"I'm really happy because I think the club did a great piece of business bringing Kevin in and you are always happy when a quality player arrives and he is certainly that,” Aguero told the club website.

"The few chances I've had to play alongside him have been encouraging because we started to get an understanding of how each other plays."

Aguero was also pleased to see the signing of compatriot Nicolas Otamendi, who cost £23 million from Valencia.

"Nico is a good player who will help our team - and the more Argentinians the better as far as I'm concerned!" he continued.

"He had a great season with Valencia last season and that's helped earn him a move here. We need a big squad because we've got lots of games and many competitions we're trying to win and all the players we've brought in over the summer have made us stronger."

Manuel Pellegrini will be hopeful he can include in the visit of Liverpool on Saturday, with Aguero nearing recovery from his hamstring problem.
