Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received a boost with the return of injured midfielders James Milner and Jordon Ibe to training.

The duo are back at Melwood after being sidelined with injuries earlier this month, reports Andy Hunter from The Guardian.

Milner skippered the Reds for Klopp's first six games, but he had to hand the armband to Lucas Leiva before the international break as the England international suffered a hamstring strain.

In the same match, a 2-1 home loss to Crystal Palace, Ibe sustained a bruised knee which meant he was unable to link up with the England Under-21 squad for qualifiers in Sarajevo against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the Falmer Stadium for the visit of Switzerland.

Both Milner and Ibe could be in contention for the short trip to Manchester City on Saturday, with the former particularly keen to feature against his old club.
