Branislav Ivanovic gives Chelsea boost after overcoming thigh problem

Chelsea right-back Branislav Ivanovic is back in contention for his team's trip to Stoke City on Saturday, manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed.

The Serbian has struggled for form this term after his storming performances for the Blues last season, helping the club to secure its fourth Premier League title.

The return of Ivanovic could see some changes from how the side lined up against Dynamo Kyiv in Wednesday's Champions League action. Baba Rahman played on the left of defence while Cesar Azpilicueta took his natural position on the right, despite more often featuring on the left for the west London outfit.

There is no further news on the injury front for Chelsea, with Radamel Falcao and Thibaut Courtois still working on their rehabilitation from respective muscular and knee injuries.
