Report: Liverpool hopes Sturridge will return from knee injury by Nov. 21

Liverpool will have to wait until after the international break to get striker Daniel Sturridge back on the pitch.

ESPNFC reports that the Merseyside club has pegged the Nov. 21 match against Manchester City as a return date for Sturridge, who has made just three appearances this season as he deals with an aggravated knee injury.

The 26-year-old would miss Liverpool's next two fixtures against Rubin Kazan and Crystal Palace, as well as England's friendlies against Spain (Nov. 12) and France (Nov. 17).

Sturridge initially suffered the problem after a clash in training. He has not yet had a chance to play under manager Jurgen Klopp, whom has not lost any of his first five matches in charge of the Reds.

"He can go, he can walk, he can swim but that’s not going to help him playing football," Klopp told reporters last week. "There is fluid in the knee. Not too much - that’s why we can say it’s not serious and we don’t have to think about surgery or things like this - but he needs time."
