Cech to make League Cup start for Arsenal with Ospina injured
An injury to David Ospina has left Arsenal with no choice but to start Petr Cech in the League Cup on Tuesday.
With Arsene Wenger's top two options - Wojciech Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez - out on loan, the Arsenal boss apparently isn't ready to give Matt Macey his first start with the senior team, according to Jeremy Wilson of The Telegraph, and will instead deploy Cech in between the sticks against Sheffield at Hillsborough on Wednesday.
Macey, however, will be on the bench during the fixture just in case Cech suffers an injury.
Cech has been stellar in goal since he was controversially benched during Arsenal's Champions League loss to Olympiacos in September. The Czech Republic international registered a clean sheet in three of Arsenal's last four games.
