Michael Carrick in contention for England start vs. Estonia

England boss Roy Hodgson intends on playing "a very strong team" in Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier, despite the side already booking its ticket to next year's finals in France.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick, who sat out Thursday's training session with a groin problem, looks to be part of proceedings against Estonia after proving his fitness, according to the BBC.

Captain Wayne Rooney and Liverpool's Danny Ings will miss the match with ankle injuries, denying the latter his international debut.

"We are not in an experimental mode, we think we've done enough experimenting," said Hodgson.

"We think we do know what we want to do, we think we know the players who are capable of helping us to do what we want to do."

England's last game of Euro 2016 qualification is Monday's trip to Lithuania, although the squad will link up again next month for friendlies against Spain and France.
