A knee injury prematurely ended Daryl Janmaat's time with the Dutch international squad.
The injury will force the Newcastle United defender to miss the Netherlands's two 2016 European qualifying matches against Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, coach Danny Blind confirmed.
The Premier League team says the decision to withdraw Janmaat was a precautionary move after the defender experienced stiffness in his knee.
Janmaat will return to Newcastle, where he will be assessed by the team's medical staff. The club says it's hopeful he will be available for the Oct. 18 encounter with Norwich City.
