David de Gea: Signs New Contract with Man Utd

De Gea signed a new four-year contract with Manchester United on Friday.

Analysis:

De Gea, who was all but delivered to Real Madrid before a deadline snafu kept him in Manchester, was told recently that he would not be sold in January, and while the new contract could theoretically keep him with United for the next few years, it also forces Madrid to pay a transfer fee to get him this summer. It's unclear what will happen in the summer now, but De Gea is fully expected to get his starting job back from Sergio Romero now that the transfer rumors are gone.
