Danny Welbeck: Undergoes Knee Surgery

Welbeck (knee) will be out for a number of months after undergoing knee surgery this week.

Analysis:

Welbeck has been out since suffering the injury back in April, and while there was a hope he could return after the international break, a step up in training caused renewed pain. He was unlikely to get many first-team starts ahead of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, but this will only push his return even further back.
