Manchester United completed the first of possibly two transfers involving goalkeepers after Anders Lindegaard's transfer to West Bromwich Albion.

The Danish international didn't enjoy the most prominent career at United since joining the club in 2010 from Aalesund as he struggled to find first team playing time.

He will, however, have an opportunity to get his gloves worked in with the Baggies. Lindegaard will compete with Ben Foster, Boaz Myhill, and Jack Rose for the chance to start between the sticks.

"I had a good chat with Tony Pulis – I must call him the 'gaffer' now – and he convinced me it would be a good move for me and the club," Lindegaard told the team's website.

"From there things moved very quickly. I was very keen to get it done so I can just concentrate on the thing that matters most, the football.

"I am very happy to join and hope I can make a big contribution this season."
