West Brom striker Saido Berahino still believes a move to Tottenham Hotspur could happen before Tuesday evening's deadline, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.

In between Spurs' two failed bids for Berahino, the 22-year-old handed in a transfer request that was rejected by West Brom. But despite the Baggies holding firm, Tottenham may yet try to pry the striker away.

The only recognised strikers at the club are England international Harry Kane and Emmanuel Adebayor, and the latter has been told he is not wanted by the club and hasn't even been assigned a squad number.

Tottenham has added pace and threat going forward with the recent signings of Son Heung-min and Clinton Njie, but manager Mauricio Pochettino would like more options to lessen the goal-scoring burden on Kane.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet in Tottenham's first four games, Kane is expected to be in Roy Hodgson's England squad, which will be announced on Sunday. Berahino is also in contention for international selection.
