Edin Dzeko has officially joined AS Roma on a season-long loan after three-and-a half years at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City confirmed the move on Wednesday, saying the signing will be made permanent if "certain conditions" are met by the end of the season - likely referring to performance requirements.

The Bosnian international finalized the move shortly after completing a medical with the Italian club.

"I came here to win titles with Roma," Dzeko told the team's website.

"Hopefully we will win many, many trophies but first we have to work hard on the pitch and at the end, hopefully we will get where we want to be. I can only promise one thing and that is that I will give my best for this club in every game.”

The move comes on the heels of Mohamed Salah's season-long loan agreement from Chelsea, and the Serie A club now finds itself with a plethora of attacking options.

Dzeko played an integral role in Manchester City's title-winning campaign in 2012, when his 26 goals in all competitions helped the team snap its lengthy title drought.

However, he saw a reduction in playing time during his final two seasons, when forwards such as Wilfried Bony and Alvaro Negredo appeared to be manager Manuel Pellegrini's preferred choices behind first-team striker Sergio Aguero.

Raheem Sterling's arrival seemingly spelled the end to his career in Manchester.

Dzeko's last goal came during a friendly against Stuttgart, bringing his total in all competitions with City to 72 goals in just 117 appearances.
