Kyle Larson: Daytona 500 Outside Pole
Larson won the outside pole for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on Wednesday.
Analysis:
Larson's lap of 181.057 mph would briefly put him on the pole position late in the second round of qualifying. However, his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Alex Bowman, would go out last in round 2 and eclipse Bowman's lap to take the pole position. Larson's lap would hold up for the outside pole and make the front row for Sunday's Daytona 500 at all-Hendrick Motorsports affair. The driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet is seeking his first win in the Great American Race.
