Report: Abou Diaby rejects West Brom contract offer

Perpetually-injured free-agent midfielder Abou Diaby has reportedly turned down a move to West Bromwich Albion.

The ex-Arsenal player, who spent nine seasons on the books at the North London club, was offered a second chance in the Premier League by West Brom manager Tony Pulis, but Diaby has declined hoping instead to play in France, according to Sky Sports.

Pulis, when asked about the prospects of Diaby joining the Midlands club, told reporters "He is a top player and I mean he is a top, top player. We've had a look and we think there are things he can do to improve his chances of playing 30 Premier League games and we're confident we can help him do that. Whether he accepts that and the ethos of the football club we'll wait and see."

Multiple reports out of France suggest that Diaby has returned to France in hopes of securing a deal with Olympique Marseille who are looking to strengthen their squad following the departures of Andre-Pierre Gignac (Tigres), Andre Ayew (Swansea City), Giannelli Imbula (FC Porto), and Dimitri Payet (West Ham).
