Samir Nasri took to social media Saturday to put an end to rumours linking him with a return to Arsenal.

The speculation about a return to the club he left in 2011 comes after Nasri's comments regarding Arsene Wenger, where he praised the Arsenal boss and called him his "football father."

Football Insider reported Thursday that the French midfielder met with Manchester City officials and requested a move back to the Emirates Stadium, to which Wenger reportedly told him there was no room in the team because of their abundance of midfielders.

Nasri swiftly denied the report and subsequently ended speculation about any perceived unrest at City:

Despite experiencing a lackluster season with City where he only managed to score two goals in 24 league appearances, Nasri is signed to a long-term contract and will likely be a significant part of their quest to recapture the Premier League title.
