Olympique Marseille reached an agreement in principle with Manchester City on Tuesday that will see the 20-year-old centre-back join Marcelo Bielsa's side on a permanent basis, subject to a medical.
Rekik spent the last two seasons on loan at PSV Eindhoven. The 2014-15 Eredivisie campaign saw him average 1.8 tackles per game, 1.7 interceptions per game, and 4.8 clearances per game through 29 appearances.
The youngster also surpassed the 50-game milestone in the Eredivisie last season and subsequently set an impressive record.
