Report: Chelsea close to signing Asmir Begovic
Chelsea are inching closer to acquiring Asmir Begovic from Stoke City as they prepare for life without Petr Cech.
With Cech nearing a move to Arsenal, Chelsea are close to finding Thibaut Courtois' backup as Begovic enters the final year of his contract.
Chelsea currently lead the pack of interested teams to sign the Bosnia-Herzegovina international after Stoke rejected a transfer bid from Aston Villa, sources tell Sky Sports.
Begovic, however, might think twice about joining the Premier League champions after seeing the limited opportunities afforded to backups at Chelsea last season, which may lead him to look elsewhere.
Finding another interested party should be easy after garnering plenty of attention from several clubs.
Stoke City are also believed to be interested in more than just a transfer fee from Chelsea. They reportedly want a player in return and have expressed an eagerness for Victor Moses to be included in a deal following his season on loan at the Britannia Stadium.
