Report: Stoke City to ask Chelsea for Moses as part of possible Begovic deal

Stoke City don't want to be left empty-handed in a deal that would see Asmir Begovic travel south to Chelsea.

With a bid for Begovic's services expected in the coming days, Stoke are believed to be interested in a swap deal, plus cash, with Chelsea for Victor Moses, according to The Telegraph.

Moses, who spent last season on loan at Stoke, has failed to convince Jose Mourinho he's capable of winning a spot in the Chelsea squad since his arrival from Wigan Athletic in 2012.

He had a decent season with Stoke, scoring four goals in 23 games before a hamstring injury ended his season in April. It was Moses's second season on loan after spending the 2013-14 season with Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Begovic is expected to fetch Stoke City £8 million, but a deal with The Blues hinges on Mourinho's willingness to guarantee substantial playing time for the Serbian goalkeeper.

It's a promise that could be difficult to keep considering Thibaut Courtois's impressive season as the team's starting 'keeper.

Chelsea's interest in Begovic stems from Petr Cech's imminent exit from Stamford Bridge in an attempt to find a team willing to offer him a regular first-team role. That team appears to be Arsenal, with an announcement expected in the coming days.
