Sandro's future in the Premier League is clouded by uncertainty.

Queens Park Rangers responded Tuesday to a report from The Sun, a British tabloid owned by News Corp, that claimed Sandro was deported from the United Kingdom after playing without a work permit for all of the 2014-15 Premier League season.

While the club denied The Sun's allegation that Sandro was deported, no comment was made regarding whether he did or did not have the necessary paperwork.

THE club is aware of today's story in The Sun newspaper regarding Sandro and the Home Office.

Whilst the club is in dialogue with the Home Office in a bid to resolve the matter, it is not in a position to comment further at this time.

However, the club can clarify that Sandro is currently on holiday in Brazil - but wasn't deported as suggested in the article.

The club will be making no further comment.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who made 17 appearances for QPR last season, has been suspended by the Home Office pending the outcome of an inquiry, and he, along with the club, must now wait to find out if he can continue playing at Loftus Road, and whether his contract will become null and void.

QPR have also had their sponsor licence suspended, meaning players from non-European Union countries cannot play until it's lifted.

"Sports clubs that benefit from the immigration system must ensure they have robust compliance systems in place, or risk losing their privilege to sponsor players and workers," a Home Office spokesperson said, according to BBC Sport.

"We continually monitor all sponsors on the register and we will take action where we find evidence that compliance duties are not being fulfilled."

Two years remain on Sandro's reported £50,000-a-week deal.
