Austin Cindric: Wins Daytona 500
Cindric won the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
The race would feature the typical number of multi-car crashes and swings in momentum. After 500 miles it would come down to NASCAR overtime thanks to a late caution. Cindric would get a good push on the restart and assume the inside lane. Over the next 2 laps he'd fend off several challenges and even deliver one crushing block to Ryan Blaney to secure the win by a half-car length over Bubba Wallace at the finish line. It is Cindric's first-career victory in just his eighth Cup Series start.
