Report: Tottenham, Liverpool interested in Juventus's Angelo Ogbonna

Angelo Ogbonna could be in line for a move to the Premier League.

Both Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of the Juventus defender, reports Peter O'Rourke of ESPN FC. Ogbonna has struggled to find minutes at the Italian club since his 2013 move from Torino.

Stuck behind the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli, and to a lesser extent Martin Caceres, the 26-year-old has made only 16 Serie A starts this season.

Now, it seems as though the two English clubs, who were known suitors during the Italian's time at Torino, will look to capitalize on that situation - which, given the future of the aforementioned defenders, doesn't look set to improve any time soon.

O'Rourke explains:

Spurs are expected to offload the likes of Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches at the end of the season freeing up space for manager Mauricio Pochettino to bring in defensive reinforcements.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to resolve his side's defensive problems with Kolo Toure departing when his contract expires, while Martin Skrtel is yet to sign a new deal and Dejan Lovren has struggled to impress in his first season at Anfield.

Juventus dished out €13 million to sign the left-footed central defender two years ago, and would certainly hope to recoup as much of that money as possible should they sell him.
