Valtteri Bottas: Wins Mexico City GP Pole
Bottas soaked up the pressure and ripped up the formbook to take a sensational pole position for the Mexico City Grand Prix, as his Mercedes team upset the odds and outpaced favourites Red Bull, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Red Bull's duo simply didn't have the pace to challenge Mercedes in this qualifying session. Bottas set the pace early and kept Lewis Hamilton in close tow. The duo locked out the front row for Sunday's Mexico City GP. It was Bottas' third pole position of the season and second in the last three races. He'll be a top contender to win Sunday's Mexico City GP.
