Barcelona to pay Arsenal £3 million if they win Champions League
Arsenal's transfer agreement to sell Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona continues to get sweeter for the Premier League club.
Along with avoiding the headache of waiting for the Belgian international to recover from a long-term injury, the club will also bank a cool £3 million if the Spanish team wins the Champions League, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.
Arsenal sold the defender to Barca during last summer's transfer window and collected £15 million in the process. The deal, however, also consists of various club-related bonuses, such as the team's progress in the Champions League.
Regardless of the fact that Vermaelen has yet to appear in a match for the Catalans, Barcelona's progress to the final in Berlin - where they will meet Juventus - puts Arsenal in line to make a nice chunk of cash.
