Chase Elliott: Wins Echopark Texas Grand Prix
Elliott won the rain-shortened Echopark Texas Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
NASCAR's inaugural race at COTA was a wet and wild affair. The mist from other cars reduced visibility greatly and made for treacherous conditions. Elliott would rise above the melee and take the lead on lap 50, running away from Kyle Larson. Rains would be on the increase once again and force NASCAR to bring out the red flag and eventually end the race 14 laps short of full distance. Elliott would be declared the winner for his first victory of the season and 12th-career Cup Series win.
