Report: Manchester City deny interest in Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp doesn't appear to be next in line to take charge of Manchester City.

The Premier League club denied interested in the German coach following the announcement he will depart Borussia Dortmund at the end of the Bundesliga season, a source revealed to Sky Sports.

The source also said City doesn't plan on replacing under-fire manager Manuel Pellegrini, despite his team's poor performances of late.

Instead, Manchester City will focus its efforts on improving the on-field product, with several players expected to leave, making way for multiple additions during the summer transfer window.

City's chances of retaining the Premier League title were erased in recent weeks following losses to Burnley, Crystal Palace, and city rivals Manchester United, with Pellegrini's job security coming into questions on a daily basis.

While the club denies Klopp will be the man to replace the Chilean boss, it doesn't necessarily mean Pellegrini's job is safe. It's hard to picture a scenario where he retains the role if City fail to qualify for a Champions League spot in next year's tournament.

They currently sit in the final qualifying position, just four points clear of Liverpool with six matches remaining.
