Ryan Preece: Races into Daytona 500
Preece finished fifth in the Bluegreen Vacations Duel 1 for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Thursday night.
Analysis:
The strong performance by the No. 37 JTG Daugherty Racing team paid off big. Preece's Top-5 finish made him the highest finishing open driver of the first Daytona Duel. As a result, he has raced his way into Sunday's Great American Race. Preece has always been a strong superspeedway performer, so it was little surprise to see him pull off this feat. He'll be a Top-10 contender in the Daytona 500.
