Inter Milan admit interest in Yaya Toure

A reunion between Yaya Toure and Roberto Mancini might become a reality if Inter Milan dish out enough money to lure the midfielder away from Manchester City.

The Serie A club are reportedly pondering a lavish bid for Toure that could exceed £40 million, according to Sky Sports.

Toure is a critical component to Manchester City's midfield and played an important role in the team's Premier League-winning seasons, but it's unclear what their asking price will be.

Inter Milan general director Marco Fassone is well aware his team's chances of signing the Ivorian are slim if City demand an astronomical figure.

"Who doesn't dream of having a player like him?" Fassone asked. "Toure would give our midfield line something that we are lacking.

"But his wages and City's asking price might be a big obstacle."

Inter Milan are currently in a transitional period. They've suffered a dreadful few years full of underachieving and poor league results that have seen the once-dominant organization lose its place in the Champions League.

Mancini, who coached Toure at City from 2010 to 2013, is eager to restore the team to its past glory. This summer will be a major test for his club, as they look to spend big in the transfer market and create a new identity.

Signing Toure alone may not help the team challenge for the league title immediately, but it would go a long way in changing the perception of the club and attracting other world-class players.
