Earl Bamber: Fast GTLM Practice at Road Atlanta

Porsche was 1-2 in GT Le Mans in opening practice for this weekend's TireRack.com Grand Prix at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, thanks to Bamber's 1:17.552 in the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR, sportscar365.com reports.

Analysis:

Team Porsche flexed their muscles in this opening session at Road Atlanta, and Bamber led the way in the No. 912 entry. He edged out teammate, Fred Makowiecki, by just 0.014 seconds to claim the fastest lap of this session. The two Porsche entries handily beat out the No. 24 BMW M8 GTE and the two Corvette entries. Bamber has yet to find victory lane this season, but he and co-pilot Laurens Vanthoor look like top contenders to win GT Le Mans class this weekend.
