Daniel Sturridge dealing with hip injury, may miss England's Euro 2016 qualifier

England could be without striker Daniel Sturridge for Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania.

The BBC reports that the Liverpool striker, who scored in his side's 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Sunday, is being assessed for a hip injury.

Should the 25-year-old be unable to partake in the match, it's likely that his place in the starting lineup will be taken by Tottenham's rising star Harry Kane.

Even if Sturridge is deemed fit, his previous history of being injured while on international duty – and the problems that spawned in the relationship between Liverpool and England manager Roy Hodgson – could make the Three Lions hesitant to play the striker at all if he has even the slightest injury concern.
