Diego Costa to undergo medical tests to assess availability for Spain

Whether or not Diego Costa features in Spain's Euro 2016 qualifier versus Ukraine on Friday remains to be seen.

The Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF) released a statement on Monday in which they said that Costa will undergo medical tests in London to determine the extent of the hamstring injury he suffered in the second half of Chelsea's 3-2 win at Hull City.

It's a familiar scenario for Spain as he missed their qualifier against Belarus in November because of a hamstring problem.

Malaga forward Juanmi was drafted into Vicente del Bosque's squad having scored seven goals for his club this season, and he could now find himself included in Spain's starting XI in what would be his first international cap at the senior level.

Spain will follow up Friday's qualifier with a friendly versus the Netherlands on March 31.
