Ryan Blaney: Runner-up Finish at Martinsville
Blaney finished second in the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway Wednesday night.
Analysis:
The streaking No. 12 Ford team continued to stay hot at the Virginia short track Wednesday night. Blaney started from the pole and used that good track position to his advantage early. He would fall back in the field during the middle stages of the race, but would recover nicely. During stage 3 Blaney set his sights on the win, but he couldn't hold off the faster car of Martin Truex Jr. Blaney would fall back to 4 seconds back of the No. 19 Toyota, but couldn't reel him in over the closing laps. It was his fifth Top 5 of the season.
