Sunderland wins appeal, Wes Brown's red card rescinded

Sunderland will have defender Wes Brown available for Tuesday's match against Hull City.
The club announced that their appeal against the red card shown to Brown in Saturday's loss to Manchester United was successful, and thus the automatic suspension that accompanies a straight red card has been rescinded.
Brown was adjudged by referee Roger East to have taken down Radamel Falcao inside the penalty area in the second half of United's 2-0 victory at Old Trafford, but replays revealed that it was actually John O'Shea who made contact with the Colombian striker.
