Martin Truex Jr.: Runner-up Finish at Dover
Truex Jr. finished second in the Drydene 400 at Dover International Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
The Joe Gibbs Racing star has always been a top performer at the Monster Mile, and Truex showed that skill Sunday. He had good starting position, and held that track position all afternoon in this 400-lap battle. Truex only led 15 total laps for the day, as Denny Hamlin dominated most of the event. The driver of the No. 19 Toyota would be in good position at the end, but could not run down Kyle Larson finishing 1.5-seconds back of the No. 42 Chevrolet. The runner-up finish was good points for Truex to carry forward in the Chase.
