Gareth Bale dismisses Manchester United rumors: 'I am happy' at Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has no plans of returning to England and signing for Manchester United.

The Real Madrid winger has been linked - by a number of British tabloid papers - with a move to the Red Devils, but the Welshman confirmed what most people already believe to be true: those rumors have no merit.

"For me, no. I have heard the rumours but I am happy here. I have still got a few years left on my contract," Bale said in a radio interview with Spanish outlet El Larguero.

"I am happy, we are winning trophies and I want to keep doing that here at Madrid. It is different football. I am enjoying a lot this experience, this culture, and trying to take it all in and enjoy it."

The suggestion that the 25-year-old was unsettled at Madrid gained steam in recent weeks, when he came under criticism from fans and some pundits for ignoring opportunities to pass to fellow star Cristiano Ronaldo, opting to shoot - and miss the net - on two separate occasions.

Such is the fickle nature of your reputation at one of Europe's biggest clubs.

But Bale, who has scored ten goals and added four assists in La Liga action this season, killed the notion that there are any issues between the two most expensive footballers in history.

"All I remember is going through on goal, and being very focused on trying to score," he said. "If I had scored, nobody would have said anything. I did not see [Ronaldo] and it seemed like a difficult pass.

"I do not actually know how much importance was given to it. We did not speak about it at all afterwards. I think it happens all the time, in all teams, and what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch. Nobody takes it personally afterwards."
