Manuel Pellegrini named Manager of the Month

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been rewarded for a month in which his side dropped only two points in the Premier League.
City strung together wins over Sunderland, Everton, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and West Brom in December, allowing them to narrow the gap between themselves and league leaders Chelsea.
"I always say that December is a key month so it was very important for us to finish the year in that way," Pellegrini said.
Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger were also nominated for the award, but defeating Pellegrini was always going to prove tough given that City scored 14 goals in six matches while only conceding four.
